PCX Assets such as Instruments, Loops, and Test Standards have simple scheduling tools based on a Calibration Frequency and a Next Calibration Date
How does the date get updated?
The Next Calibration Date can be updated manually, or a Calibration Result can be entered that is non-Incomplete. An Incomplete calibration is a calibration record with either As Found Result or As Left Result set to "Incomplete."
This means if a record was left Incomplete, or manually changed to say Incomplete, on either As Found or As Left side of the Result, there is no attempt made to automatically roll the Next Calibration Date forward from the Result Date.
Does it matter if the record is Pass, Fail or Indeterminate?
No as long as no part of the result outcome is Incomplete, it will attempt the date update.
Which date is used as the basis of the calculation?
The Result Date of the Calibration Result record itself is taken in. The Calibration Frequency is added so that date, and adjusted if necessary per End-of-Month rules, and applied to the Asset master record's schedule.
e.g. even if my Next Calibration Date is overdue such as Feb 6, 2025 for a Monthly calibration. If I perform the calibration with a Result Date May 20, 2025, it will give a Next Calibration date of June 20, 2025, because it is calculated from the Result Date.
Does the Result Status have any impact?
At this time, there is no impact from Result Status other than appearance on the main dashboard, and any filtering you are trying to apply.
Will the system update the Next Calibration Date to the past if I enter old data?
No. The Next Calibration Date will only move FORWARD into the future from it's current state.
